Municipal Toy Museum in Karpacz
The Municipal Toy Museum in Karpacz (Miejskie Muzeum Zabawek) is based on the collection of Henryk Tomaszewski and housed in the former railway station at ul. Kolejowa 3. It is open Tuesday–Friday 9:00–16:30 and at weekends 10:00–17:30, and a standard ticket costs 25 PLN (official price list, September 2026).
What can you see?
The museum covers about 300 years of toys — from 18th-century nativity figures and 19th-century porcelain dolls to 20th-century toys — from Poland and countries such as Japan, Australia, Mexico, Russia and Germany. The collection has more than 2,000 toys.
Where does the collection come from?
The museum was founded in 1995 from the private collection of Henryk Tomaszewski, a mime artist and founder of the Wrocław Pantomime Theatre. Since May 2012 it has been housed in the renovated former railway station, which also has a Railway Heritage Room with railway exhibits and models.
Good to know
- The building is adapted for visitors with disabilities, including wheelchair users.
- It is fully indoors, so it works on a rainy day — but it is closed on Mondays.
