Toy Exhibition — Pop Culture Icons in Szklarska Poręba: a trip from Karpacz
The Toy Exhibition — Pop Culture Icons (Wystawa Zabawek — ikony popkultury) is our private permanent exhibition in Szklarska Poręba, at ul. Jedności Narodowej 16 — not in Karpacz, but about 35 minutes’ drive from its centre (about 27 km). We welcome you daily 10:00–18:00, until 20:00 in the summer and winter school holidays, and 30–40 minutes is enough to see it all.
Why drive from Karpacz to Szklarska Poręba?
For a collection you won’t find in Karpacz. Magda and I run it alongside our Brick Museum, and we have gathered toys that take parents back to their childhood while kids point at today’s favourites. Expect collector Hot Wheels with the full set of AccelaRacers cars brought all the way from Australia, Barbie and Monster High, Sylvanian Families houses, Pop Mart figures with Labubu and Skullpanda, manga heroes, LEGO brick layouts with buttons that switch on sound and movement, and a Moomin house built from Pantasy bricks.
To be honest, it is mainly a collection to look at and photograph. So that children get enough to do, we have added quests to find hidden characters, a brick-building wall, consoles with retro games and a wall of cuddly toys with a huge teddy bear that almost touches the ceiling. Everything is indoors, so it also works on a cloudy day.
How to plan the day: Karpacz → Szklarska Poręba → Karpacz?
- Morning in Piechowice. The route from Karpacz runs through Cieplice and Piechowice, where Huta Julia Crystal Glassworks offers guided tours every day from 9:30 to 16:00.
- A short walk to the water. Szklarka Waterfall lies right by road no. 3; from the national park ticket point it is a walk of a dozen or so minutes.
- Our exhibition in central Szklarska. 30–40 minutes among the toys at ul. Jedności Narodowej 16.
- Afternoon at Kamieńczyk Waterfall. Please note that from 16.06.2026 until further notice the trail section from the car park on road no. 3 to Rozdroże pod Kamieńczykiem is closed — check the current status before you set off.
- Evening on the way back — Termy Cieplickie (Cieplice Thermal Baths), open daily until 22:00.
Chojnik Castle in Sobieszów is better kept for a separate day, as the climb alone takes about an hour. In the summer and winter holidays, when we close at 20:00, you can easily reverse the order: trails and waterfalls first, toys for dessert.
Buy your Brick Museum ticket in Szklarska
At the exhibition ticket desk we sell tickets to our Brick Museum in Karpacz at a very attractive price. The museum is at ul. Mickiewicza 11 (entrance from ul. Konstytucji 3 Maja) and is open daily 10:00–18:00, except on 1 November.
