Papugarnia Śnieżka parrot house in Miłków near Karpacz
Papugarnia Śnieżka is a parrot house where exotic parrots fly freely around the room instead of living in cages, so you can meet them up close. It is at ul. Karpacka 3 in Miłków, a few minutes’ drive from central Karpacz, and is open Monday to Friday 11:00–17:00 and at weekends 10:00–17:00.
What can you do at Papugarnia Śnieżka?
The parrots live in a flight hall and decide for themselves whom to visit. They may land on your hand or shoulder, and you can buy bird food before going in to encourage them. It is a chance to watch their behaviour up close and take photos (without flash). The birds include macaws and amazon parrots, among others.
How to prepare for the visit
- Remove jewellery, sunglasses and hats before entering, and tie back long hair.
- Wear a plain top without buttons, sequins or beads, ideally with long sleeves, as parrots have sharp claws.
- Bags and backpacks go into a lockable locker.
- No food or drinks in the hall, and do not stroke the parrots or feed them your own food.
Is it suitable for small children?
Yes, but prepare children for parrots landing on their arms, shoulders or even heads. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Prams are not allowed in the flight hall — little ones walk or ride in a baby carrier. The parrot house warns that scratches or pecks can happen.
Good for a rainy day?
Yes, the visit is indoors. One ticket covers a single entry to the flight hall of up to 45 minutes.
